COVID-19 Protocols In Place
Many students wish to use our training vehicle for their class 5 or 7 road test. The cost for this is $150.00 plus GST ($7.50). The student will be picked up 1 hour prior to the road test for a practice and warm up. Student will then drive to ICBC and use our vehicle for their road test. Ist Choice Driving Academy does not provide a vehicle for individuals for a road test who have not previously had lessons with us. If a student wants to use our vehicle for their road test it must be booked by 1st Choice Driving Academy to ensure both instructor and vehicle availability.
Any student unable, to attend a road test must give at least 48 hours notice. Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 additional charge by ICBC. This charge is in addition to the usual road test fees.
All students must be in the possession of a valid BC Drivers License. For those with foreign license it must be recognized by ICBC.
Prior to each lesson students must show proof of a valid license and have it on their person during the lesson. If a student cannot produce their license, the lesson cannot be conducted. A lesson cancelled because the student does not have their license will result in a forfeiture of funds paid for said lesson.
We require 48 hours notice to cancel a lesson or the lesson fee will be forfeited.
If a student is late for a scheduled lesson the instructor will attempt to call the student at contact numbers given. If the instructor is unable to contact student the instructor will wait an additional 15 minutes. If the student fails to show the funds will be forfeited.
All lessons are individual, only the student and instructor in the vehicle.
Pick up and drop off locations will be determined by the instructor and student..
Please note the lesson begins at time of pick up and ends when student exits vehicle. It is strongly recommended out of town students arrange a pick up and drop off location where lesson will take place, ie; Duncan for example, for students in the Cowichan Valley and surrounding communities.
Payments for lessons must be processed in advance by cheque, cash, Mastercard, Visa or eTransfer.
Gift certificates are also available by request.
